National Police Cadet Corps Annual Parade 2010

April 20, 2010

The momentum was not as high as the previous year, 50th anniversary.

There was a heavy downpour at Toa Payoh East. I almost could not get out of the house. In the end, I went because Gwen used reverse psychology on me. I took a cab down and it cost $18.40. $4 more than usual, there goes my money but it was worth it :) I met Gwen, Zheng Qian and Noel at the entrance of Home Team Academy.

We found seats beside the VIPs seats. Then Jimmy, Angus, Yang Zhi, Nicea, Yorklyn and their squadmates came to look for us and we reserved some seats for them. Lian Yu ma’am recognized me. She looks even more demure now. I took out my DSLR and guess what? I brought my DSLR without the memory card. I brought my spectacle case without the spectacle. It is the second time I went to NPAP without a memory card in my camera. So I was calling as many people as possible to lend me the memory card – Gwen’s HO and Jimmy’s.

Just some photos of us taken with the others at the Harmony Hall… Because I don’t think I can get the photos from Gwen already. She is so busy with her own stuffs. I will update if she is able to send the pictures over.

We also saw officers from the Hong Kong OEV trip! Jerry Sir brought us in to the Harmony Hall because we wanted to look for Cindy ma’am. So we just walked around and took many pictures! Miss Hong Kong so much! Really hope for another trip with them :)

This is Jerry Sir. He got his family to drive his car home and he has no extra shirt to change. So we asked Cindy ma’am to lend him her bling bling shirt!

Nurul ma’am and Lian Yu ma’am. My face started to get cramps after I took some pictures with the others at the drill shed.

Cindy ma’am AKA bling bling ma’am! Because she likes bling bling stuffs. She almost wore her bling bling watch on that day!

Zheng Qian, Yang Zhi and Jerry Sir. See, this picture is so nice because I am inside. (This is an inside joke)

Aloysius. I got the NPAP ticket from him. I had to play hide and seek with him in Carrefour at Plaza Singapura before I could get my tickets.

Cassandra. She still calls me the siaozhabor! Haha. Hope she can get the contingent commander position for this year’s National Day Parade :)

The Commandant Of NPCC, Supt. Rosalind Khoo.

Zheng Qian, Zhi Wen from New Town Secondary School, Me, Yang Zhi. Zhi Wen was waving at us and for a moment, I thought he was from Maris Stella High School. 15 years of gold award. Power.

Mr. Ronnie Goh. Officer In Charge of Ngee Ann NPCC unit.

Field Instructor Faizal.

Okay, this was random. Who took this?

Head Corporate Service (HTCC HQ), DSP Ben Chua. Sir, five more years, can make it one :)

They said this picture is a nice one because without me in it. Lies.

I saw Beatty’s ex principal, Mr. Boo Hian Kok! He was representing Dunman Secondary School to receive the NPCC gold unit award but I could not find him so no picture taken with him.

I saw Ms. Fauziah in her uniform. Beatty’s discipline mistress. Area Commandant of Area 12.

And also some friends in the Guard Of Honor contingents, supporting contingents and some came with their school in their uniform and some came as guests like us.

NDP09 contingent mates as well!

With the Catholic High boys…

CI Jolene!!!! I have another picture with her but it is in another memory card.

HO Fiona.

Will update this post again soon.

Beatty Secondary School 57th Annual Awards Parade And Ceremony

April 17, 2010

Beatty Secondary School 57th Annual Awards Parade And Ceremony is finally over!

“Though we are from different UGs, we do not want to outshine one another. We want to shine together!”
- Discipline Mistress Ms. Fauziah.

There was a lightning alert at around 4PM and the parade is starting at 5.15PM. Everyone was quite upset and disappointed as it was changed to wet weather plan at the Indoor Sports Hall (Unlike Marcus, he wished for wet weather plan). At 5.15PM, the lightning alert finally stopped. There was a loud cheer by every uniformed groups in the Indoor Sports Hall.

Beatty Military Band was awesome :)

Guest Of Honor – Mrs. Josephine Teo, Member of Parliament for Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC

Marching in…

Formed up.

Inspection of the GOH.

March past…

All our hard work was paid off. Actually I don’t think we had put in that much effort, in terms of how many trainings we had. Compared to other schools. But we still did an awesome job during the actual round! Take the march in as example. We always could not get the steps and turning right but on the actual round, it was much better. Kah Wee had a difficult time adjusting himself as he has long legs.

After the parade, we went up to the hall for the concert and there was a human jam. NCC Air and NPCC could not get into the hall. So Jane and I went to the toilet first. When we opened the door, Ms. Cynthia Tan told us to get back in first so we waited for two minutes and walked out again. Then she said to go up to the viewing gallery.

Sitting at the viewing gallery was really fun because there are no restriction of movements. With the cadets from the National Civil Defence Cadet Corps – Jane, Keith, Wei Da and Joel, we talked about our CCA, played the games in Keith’s iPhone and teased Wei Da! Did not really see the performances.

Keith.

Joel.
And hair net makes me look so stupid. NPCC should remove hair net as part of the uniform. Or at least like, you can take it out under shelter -.-

Wei Da was playing with Chantel. Haha.

I had so much fun working with the rest of the GOHs from different uniformed groups. Though the NCC cadets are quite reserved.

And I am always afraid of the turun senjata because I never fail to miss the point. But no problem during the actual round :)

The concert ended at 9PM.

April 7, 2010

I am going to do my homework after blogging then sleep early!

This morning, I met Javis and Mendi at the bus stop and we went to school together. Bus 232 was fucking late and we were so scared we might be late! At 7:09 AM, two 232 buses came. And we reached school at 7:26 AM. Mr. Singh was standing at the entrance of the school and was shouting at us, asking us to double up our pace. We were late anyway right! The whole corridor was filled with students from one end to another, they were late too.

Mr. Singh came up to “patrol” as he was feeling bored, I think.

Before he came up, I knew he will ask us some questions on why we were late and I was thinking “Whatever I say, he will assume it is an excuse but fuck it la, I am still going to say it”
The conversation was fucked up.
Mr. Singh : Where you live?
Me : Toa Payoh.
Mr. Singh : Oh Toa Payoh! I thought you stay at Johor Bahru. So you need one hour to come?
Me : Not really.
Mr. Singh : Why can’t you all wake up earlier, at 6AM and come to school early?
Me : I woke up very early but the bus was late. Two buses came at the same time, you see the link?
Mr. Singh : Stop giving excuses..
Mr. Singh : All are excuses…
Me : (Wanted to say “Mr. Singh, that is not an excuse. I am stating the truth”. I continued staring at him)
Mr. Singh : Then walk to school! I stay so far away but I can also walk to school (HELLO MR. SINGH? YOU HAVE YOUR SCOOTER)
Me : But I don’t walk to school.
Mr. Singh : Then whose fault?
Me : Huh? I don’t know.
Javis : (Whispers) Don’t argue with him.
Me : (Thinking… Ok if I stop arguing with him, he will walk away and Javis will not get caught for his hair)
Mr. Singh : Eh girl, don’t try to argue with me here.
Me : I am not trying to.
Mr. Singh : (Stares) I wake up at 5AM every morning and I reach school at 6:15AM although I start work at 7:15AM. (HIS FAVOURITE LINE)
Me : Ok ok Mr. Singh, I will take a cab to school everyday, okay?
Mr. Singh : No need to.
Me : Okay.

他说的是道理,我们说的是歪理。

Like duh, you need to wake up early to tie your turban right?

English class was really interesting! A big bumblebee was in the classroom and everyone left their seats and ran over to the left side of the classroom. Ms. Yue was freaked out too so we moved over to the Commerce Room.

Social Studies : because Monica’s spectacle is Calvin Klein brand, CK. Idayu calls it the COCK brand!
Idayu : LATER YOU WEAR ALREADY GOT COCK EYES AH!
Monica : See la, I don’t dare to wear my spectacle already la!

Physics was fun too!
Yao Yuan is a big noob! And there is a Physics test next week and I have a feeling I will definitely fail as I do not know this topic well. Practical Electricity. When will this Electricity shit be over?

Maths was okay. Moving on to 4B textbook tomorrow.

After school, I took the CCA room keys from Mr. Goh CT.
Training was damn slack for me. In the middle of training, I met Solihin and Dao Wei (both from NCC land) at the Gallery and I played Tap Tap Revenge and logged into Facebook on Solihin’s iPhone.

-

Siva threw a paper plane along the corridor and it flew away and flew past Ms. Jamie who was at the third floor. She looked up at Siva and stared at him. Siva acted innocent, finger pointing upwards, “Not me not me! The people above us!” (When we were at the last floor already!)

For the rest of your life, you don’t have to think twice

March 29, 2010

I have my new spectacles with me now so I need not go around the classes and borrow others’ spectacles for lessons and assembly :)

Happy birthday Kayin!

We need to blow the cake now…

Let us cut the cake together!

I was telling my mother how fair I am in this picture. My sister always say I look like a ghost. But my hands and legs are so tanned :(

She was talking to the Doraemons!

Yun Hao from the Air Force still remember me as the want-to-be-the-future-first-female-colour-party! Wishful thinking but it is good to dream :)

Brisbane Day Six & Seven

March 27, 2010

Thank you, dad :) For making this trip possible.

And my father was so lucky!
Second night : Won $1000
Third night : Won $1000
Fourth night : Won $2000
Fifth night : Won $3000
From the hotel’s casino.

We visited the three worlds in Gold Coast so we went for shopping on the sixth day – Robina Town Centre and Pacific Fair Shopping Centre. Robina Town Centre is over 70,000 square metres with over 220 retail outlets. Guess what I bought in the end? Just accessories from Diva and one dress from Valleygirl.

Diva was having sales from AUD $2 – $5! I paid for that AUD $60. My mother and sisters’ stuffs are included in the list too.

The clothing designs there are almost like those in Singapore and really expensive.

I would rather spend the money on FOOD!

So after Robina Town Centre, we went to Pacific Fair Shopping Centre. My parents went for massage and my sisters and I went to use the wireless internet for 21 minutes – $2.

We went to the Malaysian Restaurant for their 3.5 kg King Crab as we thought the 5 kg might be too big. Oh my oh my their flesh, it is so hard to describe in words. The best crab I have ever eaten in my whole life. My father said we should have ordered the 5 kg one. My sisters did not eat much so my parents and I finished up the whole crab! When comes to eating crab, I can finish all at one go!

——

We had to wake up at 3AM on the last day of our trip in Gold Coast. I watched Spongebob Squarepants before I sleep at 1 AM. The coach came to pick us up at 4AM. Who to blame? That slut, Catherine from Nam Ho Agency. She can seriously quit her job. I am writing in a complaint letter in the night.

So anyway, we waited for the coach to arrive while my parents went to the casino.

I was hoping that the Singaporean family was in the same coach but no. It was a three hours ride to Brisbane International Airport because the driver had to pick up others too. So I slept for two hours in the coach. My father slept in the coach with my dolphin. We checked in our luggage at the economy class as dad has the Krisflyer gold card. We slept again on the couch at the departure hall for three hours before boarding the plane. We did our last shopping in Brisbane at the shops in the airport.

I got one for Ching May as her birthday present (she kept bugging me for it), one for Lauren and one for myself :)

When my dolphin went through the custom, it looked like he was swimming out! Imagine that, it’s so adorable right? My parents and sisters still thought it will not get through and told me the officers will throw it away if it cannot pass the check.

Ching May could not get through as there was a problem with her passport. She had no visa. She was being such a bitch though. I wanted to take a sit on the chair but she shouted “Are you stupid, bitch?” My father scolded her so I felt better. Because of my father’s presence, I did not shout back as I do not want the conflict to escalate.

It was a eight hours flight back to Singapore and vice versa. I watched two Cantonese Film – Fight Back To School, 逃学威龙 by Stephen Chow is a 1991 Hong Kong comedy film and God Of Gamblers, 赌神 is a 1989 Hong Kong action comedy-drama film.

After I stopped watching, I felt nauseous so I slept on my mother’s lap. The food came and it was as bad as the previous one. I ate my medicine but the effect will only take after one hour and it was exactly one hour before we arrive Singapore.

—–

I swear I will never want to go to Australia again, or at least, Queensland. Unless I am visiting Lauren (Victoria), maybe business trips (if I am a businesswoman), depends on my future occupation.

1. It is so hard to find a chinese restaurant there.
2. The chinese restaurant’s food standard is so bad.
3. Nothing interesting anyway.
4. CAB FARE. Ten cents per second.
5. Shopping malls close at 6 PM (9 PM for Thursday)

China is a better place for tourists. Food poisoning are all fake. Find those good restaurants and I can assure you, no food poisoning. I am very sure because my father said so.

Australia is a better place to live in (except food and cab fare)
1. It is so peaceful and relaxing there!
2. Everyone is so happy with their life!
3. Many people are really friendly, unlike many Singaporeans.

I am so glad to be back in Singapore except the weather. When I stepped out of the airport, I felt like I was burning!!!!!!

Brisbane Day Five – Gold Coast Dreamworld

March 25, 2010

Dreamworld is the last world we went and it is also another small world. My father said we should have go to United States Of America Disney World or Tokyo DisneySea but we only have a week of holiday.

Thank you, dad :) For making this trip possible :)

It may look very big but it is actually very small. We did not go to White Water as we didn’t want to get wet and it is more suitable for kids.

From the information on the map, this is the The Outback Adventure where we met the Wedge-Tailed Eagle, Greater Bilbies, Red Kangaroos, Wombats, Emus, pure-bred Dingoes, slithery snakes and other creepy reptiles.

Red Kangaroos? And they look so old.

This is a male Kangaroo.

This might be the Wombat or it is one. It is such a cute animal! It has short legs and when it walks, it looks like a baby crawling! My mother and I stared at it for five minutes.

The Giant Drop – 120 metres. The Giant Drop is the tallest free-falling ride in the world according to Guiness Book Of World Record. Saw the curve side? That is the Tower of Terror. According to the website information, the Tower of Terror is one of the fastest ride in the world. The Tower’s electromagnetically powered ‘Escape Pod’ accelerates its passengers to a massive 160 kph in seven seconds before it climbs to almost 38 storeys high! There’s a tummy losing free-fall back to earth before hurtling into the safety of the station :)

As we walked in further, we took pictures with the Kangaroos and Koala :)
Ching Wen was so scared of the Kangaroos.

With the Kangaroos…

My beautiful mother with the two Kangaroos.

>

<img src=

With the Koala… Looks fake right? Ching May had a photo with the Koala when she was three years old and the background looked so natural as it was taken outdoor.

The Koala was sleeping. So adorable!

The Crocodiles…

NO OBJECTS TO BE THROWN INTO CROCODILE SWAMP OR YOU WILL BE ASKED TO RETRIEVE THEM! Haha brilliant.

Every time I visit a zoo or park with crocodiles inside, they are either sleeping or hiding.

We watched the Oakey Creek Farm Show at 1 PM.

We witnessed the Sheep shearing and how the dog chased after the sheeps.

Sheep shearing. At that time, I thought the sheep was going to die as I did not know what sheep shearing is all about.

This is the annoying parrot. On par with annoying orange.

My mother took this picture because her zodiac is Tiger. Haha.

The Tiger Island. The two tigers were sleeping. There might be more than two but I only saw two. Anyone is allowed to take picture with a tiger but it is only available on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. We were there on a Friday.

Oh my, my face turned so round during the trip! must be all the stupid burgers and french fries.

As my parents did not join us in any rides, we took them for the Thunder River Rapid Ride. (Go white water rafting, and tackle the turbulent rapids) My father was so funny! He buried his face into his palm whenever there was a turbulent, I saw another cute side of my father :)

I joined my sisters in the Cyclone ride which also has 360 degrees turn and it is not thrilling enough.

The Claw is insane! It treats you like an object and just throw you left to right and right to left.

The souvenir shops are not as interesting as the ones in Movie World and Sea World so I just bought one souvenir.

This Dreamworld coin is made from a machine. We just need to put in a dollar coin and select the souvenir coin deign we want.

Had our lunch at a food court – fries, chicken nuggets, pizza. I regretted not buying cup noodles from the nearest convenience store. We went back to the hotel and slept for two hours. My father woke us up at 7 PM and we took the cab down to the Malaysian restaurant for dinner.
